Middle Fork Volunteer Tuesday
Middle Fork is one of the more popular trails in Chugach State Park and provides tremendous access to the alpine of the Hillside area. Unfortunately, the trail still suffers from poor, muddy conditions in several areas
Volunteers will work to build multiple sustainable reroutes. Reroutes will include: new trail construction, boardwalk construction and turnpike construction.
Volunteers will hike about one mile to and from the work area on a generally flat trail.
SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY - Tuesday, June 12th
6pm – Meet at trailhead
6:15 – Hike in
6:30 – Work!
9pm – Back at trailhead for bevs!
This will be a strenuous project. Swinging tools, lifting heavy objects, moving rocks, etc. for ages 16 and up.
Wear boots (not shoes!) and durable pants.
Bring rain gear, gloves and some extra layers.…
